Clik here to view.ARI recently hosted another successful Adelaide Ideas Market (AIM) event to showcase some new and interesting research with investment potential.
Over 25 investors and advisors attended the event in early March where three new technologies were presented using short six-minute pitches. The pitches were followed by questions and helpful discussions over networking drinks.
The three technologies included:
- Keeping the kids off Facebook. A new system is in development called Policy Defined Networking (PDN), that will allow schools to implement security policies directly, without manually configuring the hardware – significantly reducing the time and expertise required.
- Earlier diagnosis of Gastric Cancer. A new inexpensive and non-invasive test is being developed for gastric cancer, which could be used for mass population screening where early detection has the potential to increase the expected five-year survival rate of patients from 10-30% to 90%.
- We need (a) CHAT. Computer Health Assessment by Telephone (CHAT) offers a more efficient, cheaper and safer preoperative assessment that can be managed by clerical staff and allows for patient details to be readily accessible to all clinical staff.
If you would like to know more about these technologies or future AIM events, please contact Deputy Director Jane Rathjen on 08 8313 6009 or jane.rathjen@adelaide.edu.au.
