Arranged by the Knowledge Commercialisation Australia (KCA) SA Chapter, this event was created to help show how the Tonsley project will unfold over the coming years and to investigate opportunities for local business and research organisations to work more closely and collaboratively at the site.
The tour included a overview from Andrew Dickson from the Department of State Development, who provided the background and vision for the project, and how the innovation community can benefit from being involved with this new development. Alison Gill from the Hills Innovation Centre also provided insights behind the motivations of early adopters inhabiting this space, and the benefits hoped to be had from being part of this experience.
As part of the session the group was also given a tour of the precinct, including the new Flinders University and TAFE buildings, and the former Mitsubishi Main Assembly Building (MAB) space, which has been reconfigured to provide flexible, modular and pod tenancies for a wide variety of commercial, retail and recreational uses.
